Introductory Notes
This material has been prepared as part of the Socrates Introduction to National Legal Systems Project as a brief introduction to those hoping to make exchange visits to universities in England and Wales.
This is an account of the law of England and Wales, which is the law in force in only part of the United Kingdom. The law of Scotland is found elsewhere on this database as Scotland has its own, separate legal system. The law relating to Northern Ireland differs slightly from that of England and Wales.
We hope you enjoy your study of law in a sister university to your own and that you will find these materials helpful.
