The second edition of the “10 Theses for Sustainability” Graduation Award is now underway
Applications are now open for the second edition of the “10 Theses for Sustainability” Degree Award, sponsored by the Symbola Foundation, Luiss Guido Carli , and Unioncamere, with support from Deloitte Climate & Sustainability.
This award, the first in Italy dedicated to comprehensive sustainability, recognizes theses from all disciplines—both the humanities and the sciences—promoting a systemic vision of the green transition.
The initiative is carried out in collaboration with AlmaLaurea, the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS), and the National Inter-University Consortium for Materials Science and Technology (INSTM), with the support of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) and the Ministry of University and Research.
The competition is divided into ten broad thematic areas, ranging from economics and statistics to legal, political, and social sciences, from engineering to medicine, and from mathematics to the humanities, encompassing all fields of study at Italian universities.
Applications are open from November 3, 2025, to January 31, 2026, on the dedicated platform. Graduates with master's degrees or single-cycle master's degrees (or equivalent qualifications) from the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic years are eligible to participate.
The ten winners will receive a prize of 2,000 euros and will have the opportunity to publish their theses on the Symbola Foundation's website, making them visible to a network of leading companies nationwide.
A Scientific Committee will select the winners. The committee is made up of institutional representatives from the award’s partners and is chaired by Emiliana De Blasio (Luiss Guido Carli), Marco Frey (Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa), and Stefano Zamagni (University of Bologna).
Alongside Luiss, the project’s promoter, over twenty Italian universities are participating in the initiative, including Bocconi, Ca’ Foscari, La Sapienza, Federico II, the Polytechnic Universities of Milan and Turin, and the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.
