During this course, we will investigate the role of social sciences to understand, communicate, and foster the development of culture and its comprehension in contemporary societies. Students will be provided with an overview of the interconnection between economics, political science, statistics, and law with art and cultural heritage in such a way as to highlight their mutual influences.

The course is meant to promote and support the understanding of the interactions between social sciences, art, and culture. The analysis of the intersections between these different domains will allow students to discover the existence of new branches of academic studies, as well as new professional profiles.

Teaching material includes slides, readings, and other resources that will be made available during the course.

The teaching methodology comprises lectures, case study discussions, student presentations, and meetings with experts

Class Participation: This aspect of the overall assessment will consider the level of ‘active’ participation of the students during lectures and presentations. This involves not only the degree of interaction with the professor, guest lecturers, and peers throughout the lectures but also the ability to analyze the issues addressed during the course with other knowledge and information acquired through professional or academic experience. Students are expected to critically reflect on the material provided in class and to actively contribute to discussions. • Group Presentation: during the course, students will be asked to deliver a group presentation regarding specific topics discussed in class. These presentations will represent the occasion to develop individual reflections on a chosen topic and to open a discussion.
