Studenti con Titolo di studio Straniero - Requisiti di accesso alle Lauree Magistrali

Requisiti di accesso per studenti con titolo straniero

Access to master’s degree courses is subject to the eligibility of the degree entitling students to enroll at Italian universities on the basis of ministerial requirements.

Criteria and guidelines are laid down annually by the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR). Please note that Luiss University strictly complies with the mentioned guidelines and will not accept qualifications that do not meet the requirements indicated on this webpage.

In the case of foreign academic qualifications, admission will be conditional on the submission of the documentation required by the Admissions Office to check that the qualifications in question entitle their holder to enroll in a master’s degree program in Italy on the basis of the regulations in force.

Please note that academic qualifications that do not comply with the guidelines and are not accompanied by the required documentation will not allow university enrolment under any circumstances, including in the case of admission and subsequent registration for attendance.

Candidates are reminded that it is their responsibility to check in advance that their academic qualification entitles them to enroll in a master's degree program. The onus is also on candidates to fulfil all obligations relating to the issue of student visas and to verifying what is required so as to be able to access the University's premises in the light of the relevant regulations in force.

To check the documents required for enrollment based on your qualification you may refer to the list below; for any doubts you may always reach out to ammissione@luiss.it

INFORMATION VALID FOR ALL QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuant to Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) regulations, qualifications awarded abroad grant access to master’s degree programs at an Italian university only if they:

  • have been awarded on completion of a first level degree program lasting at least 3 academic years (or four academic years depending on the related school system);

  • entitle the student to enroll in graduate programs in the foreign country that awarded them;

  • have been awarded by official universities in that foreign country’s education system. Should the Awarding Institution differ from the Teaching Institution, both institutions must be accredited and recognized within the competent ministry of education both in the country where they are based in, and in the country whose education system they refer to;

  • the Diploma is not a professional/vocational qualification

Furthermore, in case the documentation issued by the competent authority indicates that qualification awarded has a professional nature, the qualification won’t be considered eligible for access to Master’s Degrees in Italy.

In order to be eligible for enrollment to Italian master’s degrees, qualifications must be comparable with the corresponding Italian qualification not only in duration, but also in the content of the academic program. Since professional and vocational qualifications do not have the same content and scope of the corresponding Italian qualification, they are not considered eligible for enrollment to Italian master’s degrees (“Laurea Magistrale”- duration two academic years), but only to Master courses of “First level” (“Master di primo livello” - duration one year).

In case of University systems where both Ordinary Bachelors and Honours Bachelors are offered, please note that only Honours Bachelors will be eligible for access to Master’s Degrees in Italy.
