Emilio Calvano is an economist specializing in industrial organization, particularly in digital and media markets. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toulouse (France) and is now a Full Professor of Economics at LUISS and associate faculty member at the Toulouse School of Economics. His research primarily revolves around competition dynamics in digital markets, examining the effects of technological advancements. Calvano's work has been featured in numerous prestigious journals, including the American Economic Review and Science. In 2023, he obtained a 1.9 million Euro ERC Advanced Grant for a project whose aim is to investigate the impact of Artificial Intelligence on markets and society at large.
