Angelo Taraborrelli, Michele Governatori

Instructional goals

In relation with the energy industry and markets, acquisition of competence and methodology to implement an energy policy in which environment protection plays a pivotal role

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of micro/macroeconomics is requested: Basic capabilities to understand the complex interrelations between energy, economy and environment; such a capacity is required to assess an energy and environmental policy, after having achieved a good knowledge of the main markets, of the evolution of the energy scenario, of the process that leads to the definition of an energy policy, of the constraints in the definition of the policy, of the energy policy of the main actors in the international arena.

Intended learning outcomes

The students will be able to interact and work in the process for the definition of an energy policy. Such a capacity will be checked in the last three lessons of the course where students will be requested to produce the energy policy of three countries very different from each other from the point of view of the energy system, the environment and the economy.
