2026 EIPIN Congress
ILEO - Innovation Law and Ethics Observatory, in collaboration with the Luiss Department of Business and Economics Law and the Luiss School of Law (Master on Competition and Innovation Law), will host the next EIPIN (The European Network of Intellectual Property Scholars) Annual Conference and PhD Workshop this spring, on April 16 and 17, 2026, at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, bringing together leading international scholars and researchers.
The EIPIN Annual Conference “Intellectual Property in Times of Crisis and Geopolitical Tensions,” under the scientific coordination of Prof. Christophe Geiger, Director of ILEO - Innovation Law and Ethics Observatory, will explore how IP adapts and responds to a world marked by crises, geopolitical conflicts, and rapid technological change. It will invite reflection on the flexibility and future direction of IP systems across diverse contexts.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Patents and trade secrets during times of crisis;
- Sustainability and IP in times of crisis;
- Disruptive technology and IP during times of crisis.
Firmly committed to supporting young scholars, the EIPIN Annual Conference will be preceded by the EIPIN PhD Workshop. This is an exciting and enriching opportunity for PhD candidates to present and discuss their work with PhD fellows and experienced scholars in a friendly and supportive environment.
