2025 Sustainability and Impact Report: the value generated by Luiss

At the Board of Directors’ meeting on 8 July, Luiss presented its new Sustainability and Impact Report , prepared and certified in line with the GRI Standards. 

The document outlines the value the University generates for its stakeholders and demonstrates its commitment to promoting a sustainable, inclusive, and responsible development model.

The Report is a transparent means of accountability through which Luiss shares its vision, the activities it has undertaken, and the results it has achieved in protecting the environment, ensuring people’s well-being, and creating opportunities for future generations.

The four areas of the Integrated Sustainability Plan

The Report is aligned with the four areas of focus in the Integrated Sustainability Plan 2025–2028 and shows how the University translates its sustainability goals into concrete actions:

• People and Culture: Luiss supports the well-being of its internal community, fosters a culture of inclusion and responsibility, ensures the development and growth of each individual, and promotes skills linked to the principles of sustainable development 
• Green and Inclusive Campus: The campuses are environmentally sustainable and inclusive, both physically and psychologically, thanks to projects that improve accessibility, reduce the ecological footprint, and promote responsible lifestyles.
• Research:  Luiss fosters interdisciplinary research aimed at making a societal impact, with research centres focused on sustainability, innovation, and knowledge dissemination.
• Community and Local Area (Impact): Luiss strengthens stakeholder engagement and promotes educational pathways, partnerships, and initiatives that create shared value for both the internal and external community. 

Tangible value for stakeholders

The Report measures the impact generated by the University’s activities in areas such as the quality of its educational model, inclusion and well-being, sustainable campus management and reducing its ecological footprint, research dissemination, initiatives benefiting the local area, and the network of relationships that multiplies opportunities. 

With a total impact value of €606.8M, for every euro invested in the University’s activities, €18.05 of value is generated for stakeholders.

This figure clearly demonstrates Luiss's ability to multiply the value of the resources it uses, delivering benefits to students, faculty, staff, partners, businesses, institutions, and local communities.

Towards a sustainable and shared future

The results presented in the Sustainability and Impact Report reflect the contribution of the entire Luiss Community. By supporting people, through education, research, responsible campus management, and dialogue with society, the University continues to build a future that is increasingly sustainable, inclusive, and focused on creating a positive impact.
