CEOforLIFE - Luiss: PNRR Young companies and institutions working together to revitalize post-pandemic Italy

CEOforLIFE - Luiss: PNRR, businesses, young people, and institutions working together to revitalize post-pandemic Italy

Rome, September 14, 2021 – The CEO for LIFE Task Force is now fully underway. Over 100 CEOs from leading Italian and multinational companies operating in Italy will engage with institutions, associations, academia, and the younger generation to draft the policy document that will chart the course for the PNRR.

“CEOforLIFE PNRR Luiss Special Edition”: This is the launch event for a series of meetings by the six working groups—each focusing on one of the six thematic areas of the PNRR. These meetings will take place between September and October and will involve Luiss students and the CEO for LIFE Community in developing and drafting proposals for implementing the PNRR. These proposals will then be presented to the institutions during the CEO for LIFE Awards in March 2022.

The presentation of the Task Force's work plan, which will involve over 100 students from Luiss Guido Carli, will be attended by Fabiana Dadone, Minister for Youth Policies; Enrico Giovannini, Minister of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility; and Luigi Di Maio, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

As CEOs, and especially as CEOforLIFE, we want to immediately give a strong push to the process of implementing investments and reforms, as outlined in the PNRR, to give all citizens—especially women and young people—a positive medium- to long-term outlook in terms of inclusion, employment, and quality of life. And we want to do this by making them active participants in change, not just bystanders. That's why today, for the first time, we'll have businesses, institutions, and the younger generation around the same table, united in pursuing a shared goal of growth and development and in concretely defining the path to achieve it,” explains Giordano Fatali, founder of CEO for LIFE and the Task Force's promoter.

Digital innovation, combating climate change and protecting the environment, sustainable mobility, workplace inclusion, vocational training and guidance, and modernizing the production system and healthcare services are just a few of the topics that companies and young people will tackle together to outline projects and activities to be shared with institutions.

“Like the Marshall Plan in the post-war era, the Next Generation EU today represents a crucial challenge for our country and for Europe, one that requires us to envision the involvement and mobilization of civil society. Achieving the ambitious goals outlined in the pillars of the PNRR also hinges on fostering an ongoing dialogue among institutions, CEOs and their companies, and the younger generation. This is a unique discussion that we are proud to host in the coming weeks, and I am convinced it will help us identify additional courses of action to solidify our country's growth. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and responsible Italy,” commented Giovanni Lo Storto, General Director of Luiss.

An initial draft of the PNRR proposal document will be presented to the institutions on Wednesday, November 17, at Luiss Guido Carli. The meeting is organized to assess the progress of the work and gather input and observations from institutional stakeholders.

The companies and entities present at the “CEOforLIFE PNRR Task Force Luiss Edition” include: Allianz Partners, APCO Worldwide, Avanade, Avis Budget Group, Birra Peroni, Digital Magics, Dorna Italy Holding, eFM, ELIS, Euler Hermes, DXC Technology, Henkel, Hearst, Inwit, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, JMA Teko, Jones Lang LaSalle, Knorr-Bremse Rail Systems Italia, Nokia, RFI, Roche, Sanofi, Save the Children Italia, Sogei, and UnipolSai Assicurazioni.
