Daria Perrotta, the State General Accountant, will be named Luiss Alumna of the Year 2025. The Board of Directors of the University named after Guido Carli will confer the prestigious title upon her during the traditional ceremony honoring the graduate of the year, scheduled for October 29.

This recognition,” said Daria Perrotta, “marks the culmination of an unbroken bond with the University, a fundamental part of my education. It has been my constant companion throughout my studies and personal growth, and today, I proudly pass on to my students the values of commitment and responsibility as the cornerstone of every professional journey.”

Daria Perrotta, a certified public accountant, earned a degree in Political Science from Luiss in 1999. She then completed a Master’s in Applied Econometrics at the “Ezio Vanoni” School of Economics and Finance and a degree in Law from the “Carlo Bo” University of Urbino.

Before taking on the role of State Accountant General, she gained extensive experience in various institutions. She began with the Budget Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, then moved to the government, where she served as Chief of Staff to the Undersecretary of the Prime Minister’s Office and as Head of the Legislative Coordination Office at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Among her other roles, she serves as Chair of the Board of Auditors for the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and of the Strategic Steering Committee for the Digital Republic Fund. She is also a member of the National Council for Cinema and Audiovisual and of the Management Committee for the National School of Administration.

She also teaches public accounting at Luiss and the National School of Administration.

Giorgio Fossa, President of Luiss, commented: “Through her career, Daria Perrotta fully embodies the spirit of our academic community: excellence, competence, and responsibility in service of the common good. As the first woman in Italy to lead the State Accounting Office, following a long and distinguished career as a civil servant, she exemplifies dedication and is a source of pride for our entire university.”

Daniele Pelli, President of the Luiss Alumni Network (LAN), added: “Daria Perrotta's story exemplifies authentic leadership that uniquely embodies the values of the Luiss Project, in which over 60,000 alumni in Italy and around the world gratefully recognize themselves. Her career, a tangible example of achieved equality, is a source of inspiration for all those in our academic community who have chosen or aspire to build their personal and professional paths within institutions.”

Now in its tenth year, the “Alumnus of the Year” award recognizes Luiss graduates who have distinguished themselves through their professional achievements and significant contributions. The recipients are selected from over 60,000 active alumni across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East, all part of the Luiss Alumni Network—a network that fosters connections and growth opportunities inspired by the values of openness and innovation.
