Luiss and ADA University are launching the new Twinning Programme in Law

Luiss Twinning Programme ADA

Luiss and ADA University are launching the new Twinning Programme in Law, an international course aimed at students from ADA University that enables them to complete their studies in both Azerbaijan and Italy: the first three years at the Azerbaijani university and the final two at Luiss, leading to a dual degree in law.

The initiative was unveiled on 28 October during an official visit to Luiss by a delegation of senior academic and administrative staff from ADA University. The meeting was opened by Professor Antonio Majocchi, Luiss Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, followed by addresses from Professor Antonio Gullo, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Learning and Dean of the Undergraduate School, and Professor Nicola Lupo, Advisor for Internationalisation.

The event was attended by H.E. Elchin Huseynli, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Italy, underscoring the strategic importance of academic cooperation in strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Italy.

How the Twinning Programme in Law Works

The new Twinning Programme is an innovative model for international legal education. It is aimed at selected students enrolled in ADA University’s five-year Law degree programme (LL.B.), who will complete the first three years of study at their home university and the final two years at Luiss.

Through a personalised curriculum, students will be able to engage with different legal systems and develop the key transferable skills needed to operate in an increasingly global and interconnected environment. Upon completion of the programme, they will be awarded the degree conferred by ADA University and the Single-Cycle Master's Degree in Law conferred by Luiss.

Academic collaboration between Luiss and ADA University

The Twinning Programme in Law forms part of the broader collaboration between Luiss and ADA University, which began in 2022 with a five-year agreement aimed at developing joint academic programmes, training activities, and capacity-building initiatives for Azerbaijani academic and administrative staff. Since 2023, the Double Degree programme has been running as part of the Global Management and Politics Master's course, which is now in its fourth year. The new programme in the field of law therefore represents a further step forward in building an increasingly robust academic partnership with a clear international focus.
