Luiss continues to rise in the Financial Times ranking
The welcome week for Luiss freshmen couldn't have had a better start. For students at the university named after Guido Carli, the good news comes from the United Kingdom—specifically, from the Financial Times’ annual ranking. The Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali is among the top positions globally for its graduates’ career advancement, appearing in the ranking of the 100 best Management programs.
But that’s not all. In fact, in the FT’s 2022 Masters in Management ranking, Luiss remains in the Top 100 across all indicators and climbs over twenty positions in a year, now ranking 53rd (compared to 76th in 2021).
“The climb of over twenty positions in the FT Ranking recognizes two strengths of the Master's Degree in Management and, more broadly, of the Luiss educational model: career progression and internationalization. The opportunity to interact with an increasingly international faculty, the advantage of connecting with entrepreneurs and public and private managers, and the chance to take inquiry-based courses enable Luiss students to develop an innovative mindset that allows them to successfully navigate a context marked by discontinuity and uncertainty. We are preparing to welcome the next academic year’s freshmen, confident that we offer them an international, interdisciplinary, and innovative university. Our goal is to shape a generation of cosmopolitan leaders who are connected to the challenges of the future, capable of questioning phenomena, and identifying solutions for an inclusive and sustainable society,” says Luiss Rector Andrea Prencipe.
Luiss's global reach stems from a consistent, wide-ranging commitment, reflected in over 300 exchange agreements with universities in 62 countries and 58 Dual Degree programs. A few months ago, our commitment to internationalization was also recognized by the QS by Subject 2022 ranking, which placed Luiss 22nd globally, 10th in Europe, and first in Italy for Political and International Studies.
“This additional recognition in international rankings for the career advancement of our graduates rewards one of our university’s hallmarks: our ability to network with the business community and anticipate changes and complexities in the job market, training young talent with a strong focus on internationalization,” emphasizes Luiss President Vincenzo Boccia.
These results contributed to a double-digit increase in applications for admission in 2022: +18% for Bachelor’s and Single-Cycle Master’s degree programs and +24% for applications from abroad.
“Luiss's steady rise in international rankings reflects the extensive work our university has done to solidify its global standing, including through partnership agreements with leading international universities,” says Vice President Paola Severino, adding, “Today's challenges demand mature professionals who can not only handle complexity but also go beyond it, envisioning new solutions for the business world and institutions. Our main goal is to keep providing our students with practical tools that empower them to be agents of change. ”
The University guides students on their journey from the very first day they step onto campus. This year, once again, Luiss is dedicating Freshers’ Weeks to its more than 3,000 first-year undergraduate students. During these two weeks, they will learn about study opportunities, the learning model, curricular and extracurricular activities, and the role of sports within the university. This will allow them to fully immerse themselves in the experience of what will soon become their “second home.”
“Innovation and sustainability are the two key words that run through all of our university's educational programs. At Luiss, we're increasingly raising awareness among young people about these topics through cross-disciplinary activities and spaces that spark their curiosity. With an employment rate of 95% one year after graduation and a dropout rate close to zero, Luiss is committed to creating an entrepreneurial culture that fosters personal growth, enhances collaborative skills, and provides students with the means to develop new competencies,” says Luiss General Director Giovanni Lo Storto.
Today, the first day of classes, will kick off with Italian-Haitian fashion designer Stella Jean and the founder and CEO of the biotech company U-Earth, Betta Maggio. These two entrepreneurs have achieved significant international success through their passion and commitment.
President Vincenzo Boccia, Rector Andrea Prencipe, and Director General Giovanni Lo Storto will attend the meeting with these two stars of innovation and creativity.
