Luiss is hosting the QTEM Annual Event 2026: students and universities from around the world will gather in Rome
On 23 and 24 October, the Luiss campus on Viale Romania hosted the QTEM Annual Event 2026, the annual gathering of the international Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management network, which brings together over 20 prestigious universities from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
The event brought hundreds of students, academics, and representatives from the business world to Rome, providing an opportunity to discuss quantitative skills, data analysis, and the new challenges facing management education.
As one of the first ten universities to join the QTEM network, Luiss has been contributing for years to the development of an educational model that combines international mobility, analytical skills, and professional experience, thereby promoting learning pathways in diverse academic and cultural contexts.
One of the event's key moments was the final of the QTEM Data Challenge, in which four teams of international students competed in a challenge set by Cartier. By analysing real-world business data, the participants developed strategies to identify high-potential customers and devise new ways of engaging them, putting their skills in problem-solving, data storytelling, and intercultural collaboration to the test.
The programme also fostered dialogue between representatives of the network’s universities and the business world, with the participation of international partners such as McKinsey & Company, Engie, Cartier, and EY, among many others. This strengthened the connection between academic education, innovation, and career opportunities.
On Saturday, 24 October, the two-day event concluded with the QTEM Graduation Ceremony, dedicated to students who had completed the international programme. The ceremony celebrated their achievements and the value of an educational experience built on collaboration between universities from different countries.
