Luiss is a partner in the ENGAGE EU R-I project, “Support for the Research and Innovation Dimension of European Universities (Part II),” funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Program.

The research and innovation project aims to create a more inclusive and efficient R&I ecosystem by implementing individual and collective action plans. These include establishing a (virtual) training center for staff members (Staff Academy) and a platform (Platform for Collective Action) that allows civil society to participate in project activities.

ENGAGE EU R-I is coordinated by the University of Mannheim, and the scientific lead at Luiss is Christian Iaione, Professor of Urban Law, Land Policy, and Innovation. Luiss's project partners include the Norwegian School of Economics, Tilburg University, the University of National and World Economy, Toulouse 1 University Capitole, and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

The initiative is closely linked to the ENGAGE.EU project (under the Erasmus+ program) and aims to support the research and innovation dimension of “European Universities” within the Horizon 2020 framework, in line with their shared and integrated strategy.
