At Luiss, ten thousand encounters with the future. The “Youth and Employment” Career Day is back in person

The countdown is on for the 25th edition of Luiss Career Day, “Youth and Employment.” This major annual event brings students and graduates together with companies and institutions, and is now returning to a fully in-person format following the pandemic. Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 21st and Friday, October 22nd, in the outdoor spaces of the Viale Romania campus, over 2,000 young people will have the opportunity to meet, request information, apply, and participate in live job interviews with more than 105 partner organizations , with a total of approximately 10,000 appointments.

Here’s how the main event, designed to connect Luiss undergraduates and graduates with the job market, will be structured:

  • Thursday the 21st is reserved for the Legal, Institutions & Public Affairs, and Finance sectors.
  • Friday the 22nd will be dedicated to companies specializing in “Corporate” and Consulting.”

The companies and institutions taking part in the event include: Intesa Sanpaolo, Angelini Holding, Acea, Maire Tecnimont, Deloitte, EY, Poste Italiane, WindTre, Gianni Origoni, Bonelli Erede, Chiomenti, Cleary Gottlieb, the Prime Minister’s Office, Emergency, and Médecins Sans Frontières.

It's a leap into the future for students and recent graduates. Luiss Career Day, celebrating its first quarter-century this year, will be held in complete safety. Access to all sessions will be restricted to those with a Green Pass. To schedule meetings with recruiters, students and graduates will need to use a dedicated online booking system, thereby avoiding lines and crowds.

Full immersion in the professional world is the final stage of a year-round career guidance program designed to meet the needs of both those seeking work experience and those offering it. The numbers speak for themselves: on average, one in two students receives a job offer even before graduation. Since its founding, Luiss has had a close bond with businesses and institutions, which is reflected in a 94% employment rate for graduates within one year, with peaks of 97% for the Department of Economics and Finance. These figures are backed by the JobPricing Observatory’s 2021 University Report survey, which ranks the Guido Carli University  second nationally for both salary growth over the course of a career, with an increase of 79% (up 6% from 2020), and the percentage of graduates in managerial roles (10.7%).

Today, more than ever, we need to anticipate the new directions of the job market and foster connections between young people and companies, institutions, and the professional world.

These are the goals of Career Day, which is returning to an in-person format to offer Luiss graduates and soon-to-be graduates a valuable opportunity for meeting, exchanging ideas, and sharing with  key players in our economy,”said Giovanni Lo Storto, the University’s General Director. He continued, “ This initiative is an extraordinary model for opening up and building one’s future, including through discussions with the experiences of alumni and established professionals, who are ready to provide all participants with useful tools and advice to help them confidently tackle the complexities and challenges of the future.”

Among the other activities that students and graduates can take part in during the 2021 edition of the Luiss Career Day are the “Turbo sessions,” which offer focused, interactive discussions between companies and candidates, and the new Alumni Meets—held in partnership with the Alumni Association—where participants can engage in informal conversations about potential career paths with a pool of 35 Luiss graduates who are already established in various professions.
