LLM Educational Program with Fordham University
Highlights
The students selected for the joint educational program will be registered at Luiss during their time at Fordham and will continue to pay tuition fees at Luiss. Students will be exempt from paying tuition at Fordham, however, for the 2026-2027 academic year, they will be required to bear administrative costs related to the program:
- Health insurance: Approximately $5,000 for both semesters
- Administrative fees: Approximately $1750 for both semesters
In order to earn the two diplomas, students will have to be in compliance with both their home and host universities' rules and conditions with regard to credits, attendance, deadlines etc.

Application Process
The Call for Application is published on Early December 2025 and students will be able to apply starting from 8 January 2026. Further information on the deadlines are reported in the table below. Details regarding the application process that are not available in this web page, will be available in the Call for Applications 2026/27, uploaded in the 'Useful documents' section at the bottom of this page.
Who can apply
According to their major, fourth-year Law students can apply for:
- an LL.M. in International Business and Trade Law: open to students majoring in Diritto Internazionale, European Law, Law and Innovation, Diritto Societario e Tributario, Diritto ed Economia delle Imprese
- an LL.M. in Banking, Corporate and Finance Law: open to students majoring in Diritto Societario e Tributario, Diritto ed Economia delle Imprese, Diritto Civile
- an LL.M. in International Law and Justice open to students majoring in Diritto Internazionale
- an LL.M in International Dispute Resolution open to students majoring in Diritto Internazionale
- an LL.M. in Intellectual Property And Information Technology Law open to students majoring in Law and Innovation
- an LLM in Corporate Compliance open to students majoring in Diritto penale, Diritto societario e tributario, Diritto ed economia delle imprese, Diritto internazionale
- an LLM in Fashion Law open to students majoring in Diritto societario e tributario, Diritto ed economia delle imprese, Diritto internazionale, Law and Innovation, Diritto civile
- an LLM in Real Estate Law open to students majoring in Diritto civile, Diritto ed economia delle imprese, Diritto societario e tributario
- an LLM in Competition Law open to students majoring in Diritto ed economia delle imprese; European Law; Diritto amministrativo

Every year 2 students can take part in the program.
Requirements
Eligible students can apply if they comply with the following requirements:
- have passed and registered at least a total of 180 credits
- hold a weighted average grade equal to or above 27/30
- hold an international English language certificate accepted by Fordham:
- TOEFL: min. 100 IBT; min. 250 CBT; min. 600 PBT
- IELTS: equal or above 7.0 (online test accepted)
- Duolingo English Test: min.120
The language certificates must not be older than two years from the start of the mobility (August/September 2026). Applicants must meet the requirements using a single test.
Selection Procedure
Luiss University will select a shortlist of candidates based on a non-disputable evaluation of the academic profile and the motivation of the student. Further details about the selection process would be published along with the call publication.
Results will be communicated to Fordham University which reserves the right to make the final choice.
Selection Criteria
The selection follows a 3-step process:
| Step 1 | The eligible candidates will be ranked after the analysis of their academic performance (credits 53%, credits for internship 2%, weighted average grade 45%). |
| Step 2 | An interview will focus on the motivation, the academic background and the previous international or professional experiences |
| Step 3 | The partner Universities, analyzing the Luiss Commission ranking and the candidates’ dossiers, has the right to confirm the final ranking. |
