International calls for proposals
Erasmus + Placement is an EU programme that promotes international mobility across European countries by funding three-month curricular internships abroad. Participating in an internship abroad offers students a valuable opportunity to develop specific job-related skills and gain first-hand experience of the host country's culture.
The official call for applications is published annually during the Autumn session (September/October) on the Career Centre platform. Internships typically take place between January and September, depending on the employer's needs.
The call is open to:
Students selected through the call for applications
Students enrolled in the 2nd year of the Graduate School or the 5th year of the Undergraduate School.
All candidates undergo a selection process where they are assessed by a dedicated committee based on the criteria detailed in the competition notice.Students with an independently arranged internship
Those enrolled on any degree course, whether graduate or undergraduate.
Those who have independently identified a verified internship offer automatically receive the financial contribution, with no further selection process.
Erasmus+ Placement internships require students to maintain their student status for the entire duration of the internship.

Each year, our University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), and the CRUI Foundation, supports students in undertaking three-month curricular internships at MAECI’s offices abroad.
The calls for applications, which are simultaneously posted on the Career Centre, are published three times a year: in January, May, and September. The internship periods are organised into three cycles: January to April, May to August, and September to December.

The European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe periodically offer students the opportunity to undertake research and training placements at their offices in Strasbourg.
Each year, Luiss promotes both opportunities via the Career Centre platform, where interested candidates can submit their applications along with their CVs.
To participate, candidates must pass an international law exam, have a thorough knowledge of English, and ideally also know French. Students will then be selected based on the criteria outlined in the call for applications and assessed by a dedicated committee.
The research and training period lasts one month at the European Court of Human Rights and two months at the Council of Europe. The period for the placement will then be agreed with the aforementioned European institutions.
Selected candidates will receive a financial contribution to partially cover the expenses incurred during their stay abroad.
Luiss allows students and graduates from all courses of study to apply for internships at the European Patent Office (EPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), based in Munich, Germany, and Alicante, Spain, respectively.
The selection notice is published once a year on the Career Centre , usually in February. The internships last between one and three years, starting in September.
The internship includes a monthly allowance, along with other benefits such as on-site coaching, training and online courses in the various areas of expertise, as well as language courses in one of the official languages of each office.
Twice a year, the European Commission and the European Parliament offer the opportunity to undertake paid internships at their premises through the following programmes:
- Blue Book Traineeship (European Commission)
- Schuman Traineeship (European Parliament)
Both opportunities are published simultaneously on the Career Centre platform. During the application period, the University organises informative Career Guidance workshops on how to submit your application.
