Early access to legal practice for law students
Students enrolled in the final year of their degree program—defined as the final year of the official program in which they are formally registered, excluding students who have exceeded the standard time limit—may request to begin their internship one semester early, while continuing their university studies and before obtaining their degree. have completed the exams for the first four years of the degree program and earned credits in the following subject areas: Private Law (IUS/01); Civil Procedure Law (IUS/15); Criminal Law (IUS/17); Criminal Procedure Law (IUS/16); Administrative Law (IUS/10); Constitutional Law (IUS/08); and European Union Law (IUS/14).
The regulations governing this option are as follows:
- Law No. 247 of December 31, 2012 247 New regulations governing the legal profession, Articles 40 and 41)
- Decree of the Minister of Justice of March 17, 2016, No. 70 (Regulation governing the completion of the internship required for entry into the legal profession),
- Framework Agreement between the National Bar Council and the National Conference of Directors of Law and Legal Studies, dated January 23, 2023.
Based on the aforementioned agreement, Luiss Guido Carli is authorized to sign implementing agreements with the Councils of the Bar Associations (COA).

If a student chooses a Bar Association Council with which the University does not yet have an agreement, they must request that the Bar Association in question initiate the procedures to activate the agreement with the Undergraduate School by sending an email to the following address: careerservice@luiss.it.
It is the student’s responsibility to contact the Bar Association Council of their choice directly or to consult its website to learn about the procedure and the required documentation.
