Early access to the notarial profession for law students
Completion of the first six months of the internship required to enter the notarial profession, concurrently with the final year of the Law Degree Program.
Students enrolled in the Single-Cycle Degree Program in Law who have completed all fourth-year exams may take an early semester in their final year, which counts toward the internship required for entry into the notarial profession, provided they meet the legal requirements.
The legislation governing this option is outlined below:
- Article 6, paragraph 4, of the Presidential Decree of August 7, 2012, No. 137 (Regulation reforming professional bodies), issued pursuant to Article 3, paragraph 5, of Decree-Law No. 138 of August 13, 2011, converted with amendments by Law No. 148 of September 14, 2011;
- The Framework Agreement signed on December 7, 2016, between the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Education and Research, and the National Council of Notaries, implementing Article 3, paragraph 5, of Decree-Law No. 138 of August 13, 2011, converted with amendments by Law No. 148 of September 14, 2011;
- The Framework Agreement signed on October 17, 2022, between the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of University and Research, and the National Council of Notaries, which fully replaces the agreement signed on December 7, 2016.
Based on the aforementioned agreement, Luiss Guido Carli is authorized to sign implementing agreements with the Notarial Councils.
To date, our University has the following agreements in place:
- District Notarial Council of Rome, Velletri, and Civitavecchia
- District Notarial Council of Latina
If a student chooses a Notarial Council with which the University does not yet have an agreement, they must request that the Council in question initiate the procedures to activate the Agreement with the Undergraduate School by sending an email to the following address: careerservice@luiss.it.
It is the student’s responsibility to contact the Notarial Council of their choice directly or to consult its website to learn about the procedure and the required documentation.
