Enrollment Guidelines
Course enrollment is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Erasmus and exchange students can enroll in courses across all disciplines, academic years, and levels (both bachelor's and master's), provided they meet the necessary prerequisites outlined in the syllabi. The prerequisites serve as a guide for self-assessment, helping students determine whether they have the foundational knowledge needed to succeed in their chosen courses.
Graduate-level courses are advanced in nature; students enrolling in these courses should have a strong academic background and proficient language skills.
Exam Opportunities – An Overview
Each course offers at least two final exam sessions per semester, with three offered for Law courses.
Students can choose to take their exams during either the First or Second Examination Period, or split them between the two — this is the most common approach among Luiss students. If you fail an exam, you can retake it during the next available exam session.
Scheduling & Availability
First Examination Period: Only one exam opportunity is offered per course during this period.
Potential Overlaps: Exam dates are published approximately one month after classes start. Times may overlap within a single period—particularly between different years or programs. If a conflict arises, you should plan to split your exams between the First and Second Examination Periods.
Incoming students are generally required to complete a Learning Agreement (LA) to confirm their course selections and ensure recognition by their home university. This is mandatory for Erasmus students.
If your home university is part of the Erasmus+ Network and connected to the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) platform, your Learning Agreement will be processed digitally.
If your university is not connected to EWP, you can submit your LA in PDF format. Please email the signed document to: in_erasmusexchange@luiss.it.
Learning Agreement Signature — Before the Mobility ProgramThe LA can only be signed after your course registration is complete and course activation is confirmed:
Fall Semester: After registration in June/July until early September
Spring Semester: After registration in December
Students may update their LA after arrival, once their study plans are confirmed following the add/drop period.
Fall Semester: After the first week of classes in September
Spring Semester: After the first week of classes in February
