Reducing plastic and the circular economy
Luiss is promoting a reduction in plastic consumption and the adoption of circular economy models across all campuses. As part of its new waste management project, the University has developed an integrated approach that combines reducing plastic use with recovering and recycling materials.
The water served in bars and canteens is provided exclusively in bottles made from recycled and recyclable plastic. Special compactors allow for its collection and proper routing to recycling processes. Water fountains and refill stations also encourage the use of reusable water bottles.
Through these initiatives and by adopting more sustainable alternatives to single-use products – such as using porcelain tableware in canteens – we contribute to reducing waste and promoting responsible behaviour.
