Christian Iaione is Professor of Administrative and Public Law at Luiss Guido Carli, where he teaches urban planning and territorial law, law and development, public policy and governance of innovation and sustainability, smart cities, infrastructure and real estate.
 
Christian Iaione is co-director of the Master's Degree Program in Strategic Management, director of the LIFE - Law & Investment on Future & Earth research center, and co-director of LabGov - LABoratory for the GOVernance of the Commons (a scientific partnership between Luiss University and Columbia University).
 
He is an affiliated fellow of the Urban Law Center at Fordham University and a visiting professor at Reichman University. He has been a Luiss Principal Investigator for several EU-funded R&I projects (Open Heritage, EUARENAS, ENGAGE.EU R&I, AWARE-EU) and for several national funding programs for basic, applied, and industrial research aimed at creating energy communities, innovation hubs, and emerging technology hubs, as well as piloting urban regeneration processes based on planetary health and sustainable development. He has been appointed as an expert in several URBACT and UIA projects and is a member of the Urban Partnership on Innovative and Responsible Procurement within the EU Urban Agenda. He coordinates the City Science Office of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia and represents it within the City Science Initiative at the EU level. He has been an Emile Noël Research Fellow at NYU Law School, an Urban Citizen Fellow at NIAS-KNAW, a research fellow at the New Institute in Hamburg, and a visiting professor at Sciences Po-Paris. He has contributed to the creation of start-ups and university spin-offs.
