URBAN PLANNING AND LAND LAW
Instructional goals
The course aims to transfer fundamental knowledge and skills for a lawyer specializing in administrative law in one of its main areas of intervention: the use and the material and immaterial transformation urban planning of the land.
Intended learning outcomes
Those who pass the exam will be able to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to aspire to brilliant careers in the legal profession, the judiciary, public administrations, companies, and other entities involved in real estate, infrastructure, and land development.
Course Contents
The course is divided into a general section and two specialized sections.
The general section will explore the fundamentals of planning and controlling construction projects. The specialized sections will explore aspects related to infrastructure and the intangible transformations affecting cities and regions.

Teaching Methods
Interactive lessons, student presentations, testimonials from public and corporate executives, administrative judges, and partners from large international firms and boutique firms. Use of audiovisuals like podcasts, movie excerpts, youtube videos.
Assessment Method
For attending students: class presentation, production of a paper by the end of the course on the basis of the readings assigned and further research materials, discussion of the paper during the oral exam.
For non attending students: oral exam on the handbook or on assigned readings during the course.

The siting, construction, and management of public and public utility works and infrastructure.

The minimum content of property and expropriation for public utility.
Week 7
The control on building activities. Building regulations, building permits, penalties, amnesties, and amnesties.

Cities and economic, social, industrial development. Urban regeneration and cohesion policies.

Urban social infrastructure. The public, social, affordable, adequate housing issue.
