Digital tools for teaching
On this page, we provide some useful information about the tools used for digital learning at our university.
Create a Luiss account
The university will communicate with you exclusively through the institutional email account nome.cognome@studenti.luiss.it (if it’s unavailable due to a name conflict, the system will offer you alternative options). We recommend activating your account as soon as possible and checking your email regularly.
To create your account, log in with the “Web Self Service” credentials you've already been assigned and follow the guided steps at this link: https://createaccount.luiss.it/.
Your Luiss account will give you access to the following services:
• Office 365 cloud applications, including Outlook, OneDrive, and Skype for Business
• LuissWPA Wi-Fi network
• Eduroam Wi-Fi federation
• Windows PCs in the computer labs at Luiss campuses
• MyLuiss University platform
• remote access to the Luiss Library
• use of the shuttle service
Create your Keyless account
To access the MyLuiss e-learning platform and the WebEx Teams platform, which is used for some language lessons and faculty office hours, you must complete a facial authentication process with the Keyless app.
To install it, just follow these simple steps:
1. Download and install the “Keyless Authenticator” app as described in the following guide.
2. Connect Keyless to your Luiss Account by scanning the QR Code on the registration page after logging in with your Luiss credentials. (Video tutorial available here)
3. Enable the backup feature as described in the following guide.
4. Check that authentication works from “MyLuiss.” Log in at the top right, then click on “Studenti / Students (Keyless).” Finally, enter your Luiss credentials. Once you’re done, you’ll receive a notification on your smartphone that will enable you to authenticate. (Video tutorial available here).
For optimal performance, we recommend using iOS 12.4.6 and Android 6 or later versions on your mobile phone.
If you encounter any issues with Keyless, you can refer to the Troubleshooting section, consult the FAQ, or contact support via live chat at https://support.keyless.io/luiss.
Web Self Service: your personal page
Web Self Service is your go-to tool for finding information, tracking your academic progress and administrative status, scheduling exams, checking your transcript online, designing your study plan, and accessing key self-certifications.
Accessing your Luiss email
To check your Luiss email, simply go to https://cloudmail.luiss.it and enter your Luiss credentials.
We recommend adding this email address to your email client (Outlook, Mail, etc.) and to any accounts you can access with your smartphone's email client.
Since your Luiss account is a Microsoft 365 account, by going to https://cloudmail.luiss.it and accessing the options menu in the top left, you can also download the latest version of the Microsoft Office suite for free and use the cloud storage space available with OneDrive.
Download the Luiss App
The Luiss app is an essential tool for all students, and it will allow you to:
- enhance your learning and educational experience
- keep your university details close at hand
- use your electronic badge
- optimally organize your time on campus between classes, study, and the opportunities the university offers each day
- browse the Library catalog
- access the residence on Via di Santa Costanza
If you haven't already, we encourage you to download it from the iOS and Android app stores.
MyLuiss
MyLuiss is the e-learning platform that will support you throughout your entire course of study. You'll find all the course materials, links to virtual classrooms, and the ability to sign up for labs and activities. You can also use the platform to get in touch with your tutors.
Once you open the main page, simply click in the top-right corner to log in, then select “Student (Keyless)” to access the platform. You must first activate your Luiss email and set up Keyless by following the instructions above.
Within the platform, by clicking the “Dashboard” button at the top, you can view all the courses you’re enrolled in, along with a series of useful links at the bottom.
By selecting the “Classrooms” button, you’ll find a list of virtual classrooms that you can use to access online lessons.
Finally, by clicking on the “Handbook” button, you'll access a dedicated section where you'll find the student handbook with all the useful information.
Check the class schedule
To view the class schedule, you can go to this page. You can search for the schedule by program, by instructor, or by course.
To view your group for in-person classes, click on the page above and go to the “View Group Assignment” section.
By logging in with your university credentials, you’ll see a list of all courses along with their respective attendance groups.
For language class groups, please refer to the University Language Center’s pages, as these are assigned based on different criteria.
Connect to virtual classrooms
For courses or activities held in virtual classrooms—meaning those not conducted in an on-campus classroom—you can connect using Cisco WebEx.
You can find the list of links to the classrooms on MyLuiss in the “Classrooms” section in the top bar.
To connect to a virtual classroom, select “Virtual Lessons” and search for the classroom by its number.
Webex is the software used to access virtual classrooms. The latest version is available at https://www.webex.com/downloads.html.
To log in, you must be authenticated in the Webex application by entering your Luiss account credentials.
If the account you’re using to log in isn’t set up correctly, you’ll see the following message: “You can join the meeting after the host admits you.”
To make sure the Webex app is properly set up with your Luiss account, just follow the steps in this video.
If you encounter any technical issues, please contact IT Support at supportoit@luiss.it.
Attendance tracking
During class, the instructor may ask students to confirm their attendance through the app. You can find all the instructions on how to proceed by clicking on this link.
Access to Luiss spaces and services
Students can access the Luiss study rooms from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., by making a reservation by midnight the day before, and only for the following two days. You can also use the same tool to book access to some of the university's offices and services.
