Art
Art is essential to us, and perhaps more than anything else, it nourishes us. Because it can reveal the other side of things, the other side of the world – that world which doesn’t follow rational paths. The Art Workshop aims to introduce students to this intangible universe, composed of multiple creative paths, so that they can develop themselves by observing the work of their peers who have chosen creativity as their field of endeavour.
Inside the value. A visit to the Museo della Zecca
26 September, 10:00 am
The visit will offer the Luiss community an exclusive opportunity to explore the heritage of the Museo della Zecca through a dedicated journey into the history of Italian currency, engraving art, and numismatic production. Participants will be able to delve into the creative and production process that takes them from designing an image to creating coins and medals, discovering the roles of artists and engravers and the technical expertise held by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato.
The experience will also allow visitors to see coins and medals as tools for telling the story of history, culture, and national identity, highlighting the dialogue between manufacturing tradition and technological innovation.
To mark the 50th anniversary of Luiss's foundation, we'd also like to include a small community engagement initiative in the registration form: we'd ask participants to propose a graphic concept for a commemorative coin dedicated to Luiss's 50th anniversary, attaching a drawing, a sketch, or a brief description of their idea. The proposals collected could serve as food for thought for potential future initiatives related to the University’s celebrations.
