The Magic of Singing in a Choir - Spring 2017
The film festival scheduled for Spring 2017 is dedicated to the passion for music and singing, and the magic that comes from sharing it. The films featured tell intense and dramatic life stories where music plays a very special and often pivotal role in the protagonists' experiences.
Event schedule:
- Tuesday, March 14: The Bélier Family (2014), by Eric Lartigau. Starring Karin Viard, François Damiens, Eric Elmosnino, and Louane Emera, 100' (Watch the trailer)
- Tuesday, March 21: Les Choristes (2004), directed by Christophe Barratier. Starring Gérard Jugnot, François Berléand, Jean-Baptiste Maunier, Kad Mérad, and Jean-Paul Bonnaire, 95’ (Watch the trailer)
- Tuesday, March 28: The Concert (2009), by Radu Mihaileanu. Starring Aleksei Guskov, Dmitri Nazarov, Mélanie Laurent, François Berléand, and Miou-Miou, 120’ (Watch the trailer)
- Tuesday, April 4: One Chance (2013) by David Frankel. Starring James Corden, Alexandra Roach, Julie Walters, Colm Meaney, and Mackenzie Crook, 103' (Watch the trailer).
Screenings take place from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM in the Library's new Multipurpose Room at Via di Santa Costanza 53.
Admission to the event is free while seats are available, and it’s reserved exclusively for the LUISS community. To attend, simply reserve your spot by emailing attivitaculturali@luiss.it and indicating which film you’d like to see.
The idea for the festival stems from the LUISS Polyphonic Choir’s recent experience, as it made its debut in the spring of 2016 during a charity event for Antea Onlus. Those interested can submit their request to participate in the 2016–2017 program by contacting the Cultural Activities office.
