Workshop

Luiss Cultural Activities regularly organise artistic workshops with the aim of testing students' creativity and their willingness to get involved, allowing them to express their talent and aptitude for teamwork.

Contemporary leadership and managing complexity

A workshop focused on contemporary leadership, change management, and complex decision-making processes, with Luigi Colavolpe, a Luiss alumnus, taking part.

The workshop aims to give students an opportunity to discuss contemporary leadership models, the management of organisational complexity, and the ability to lead decision-making processes in high-pressure environments. Through discussion with Luigi Colavolpe, a Luiss alumnus with international professional experience, students will take part in a learning session that is practical, participatory, and focused on direct interaction.

Pop & Kult, Mat & Spraak – A focus on Scandinavia, exploring culture, languages, and shared experiences

Two events dedicated to Scandinavian culture, exploring idioms and identity, as well as the images and imaginaries of Northern Europe. Beyond clichés, with rigour and curiosity.

The project features two events dedicated to Scandinavian culture, conceived as opportunities for dialogue that bring together cultural reflection, contemporary forms of expression, and a convivial atmosphere.

Through an engaging interdisciplinary approach, the events explore themes related to Nordic pop culture, contemporary imaginaries, and the relationship between language, identity, and the cultural traditions of Northern Europe.

  • “Pop & Kult” is dedicated to the expressions of Scandinavian cultures – both ancient and contemporary, deeply rooted, pioneering, and innovative – through a process of listening to, analysing, and exploring Nordic cultural phenomena. Literature, music, journalism. Nobel Prizes, historic brands, and the like. But it's not just about telling stories – it's more than that. But it is also a journey through shared pillars of identity that are both intimate and collective: sport, interpersonal dynamics, and uncharted geographies.

21 September, 9:00 p.m. - Collegio Don Mazza (Via di Trasone, 56)

  • “Mat & Spraak” explores the relationship between food, language, and cultural identity within the Scandinavian cultural and gastronomic landscape. By linking the sensory dimension, landscapes, food practices, and linguistic interconnections, this event charts new paths of discovery. It both unites and, at times, separates – and almost always shifts, imperceptibly – the boundaries between the Nordic regions and their various culinary icons. At the table, at home, on the street. And beyond that, one mouthful (and one word) at a time.

5 October, 9:00 p.m. - Collegio Don Mazza (Via di Trasone, 56)

Managing complexity: The Fabbrica di San Pietro amidst institutions, culture, and major events

Two meetings will focus on the themes of governance, administration, and management in large contemporary organisations, using the Fabbrica di San Pietro – one of the oldest and most complex institutions in the world – as a case study.

The initiative proposes a dialogue between academia and the Fabbrica di San Pietro on the topics of institutional governance, managing organisational complexity, and coordinating major global events. Two meetings hosted at Luiss will explore the organisational model of the Fabbrica di San Pietro, as well as the experience of St Peter's Basilica and St Peter's Square as an emblematic case study in the management of complex international events.

Let's talk about the city. Luiss students meet the President of the Municipality.

How do you imagine the city of the future? What changes would you like to see in the neighbourhood where you live every day?

"Città, parliamone" is an event dedicated to fostering dialogue between the Luiss community and the President of Rome's Municipio II, Francesca Del Bello. This event is designed to hear students' perspectives and to reflect together on the issues that affect the quality of urban life: mobility, sustainability, safety, public spaces, culture, services, sport, and the relationship between the university and the local area.

After a brief institutional introduction, the floor will be opened to the participants, who will be free to contribute with questions, ideas, and proposals, helping to foster an open and participatory conversation about the city.

During the registration process, you will also have the option, on a voluntary basis, to submit a short document containing your thoughts or suggestions. This will be shared with the President of the Municipio as a preparatory contribution to the meeting.

This is an opportunity to engage with the institutions, make your voice heard, and work together to envision a city that is increasingly aligned with the needs of the younger generations.
