Luiss moving to the cloud

Email migration project to the Microsoft Office 365 cloud

Thanks to an agreement with Microsoft, Luiss has adopted the Office 365 cloud-based digital platform, which provides access to the following products:

  • Exchange Online for email, calendar, and contacts
  • OneDrive for sharing documents, even outside the Luiss domain

The platform is available to all students, faculty, and administrative staff.

Cloud-based email lets you manage your inbox with a capacity of 50 GB and keep all your mobile devices—smartphones, tablets, and notebooks—synced not only with your email but also with your calendar and contacts (for more details, read the Outlook 365 Guide).

OneDrive (formerly Skydrive) lets you easily store documents, photos, videos, and more in the cloud, and share them with others outside the university network. Users have one terabyte of space available (for more details, read the OneDrive 365 Guide).

Here are some features and benefits of the new platform:

  • Users can access their email, calendars, and contacts from anywhere via the web using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
  • 50 GB mailboxes that are fully compatible with Outlook and can send attachments up to 25 MB in size.

Detailed documents on the features will be available electronically in this section, and the entire IT services team will be on hand to assist users during this sensitive and important transition to the new platform. 

Students

Each Luiss Account is associated with a username in the following formats, which allows access to Microsoft 365 Cloud services:

  • Students: nome.cognome@studenti.luiss.it 
  • Alumni: nome.cognome@alumni.luiss.it

Please note that students are only provided with an account once their enrollment is complete. However, faculty, adjunct professors, and administrative staff are automatically assigned an account.

Password change

To change the current password for your Luiss account, simply click here.

If you lose your account password or it expires, you can reset it on your own using this link.
You can reset your password from a PC or smartphone, thanks to Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) (two-factor authentication), which is enabled for all Luiss accounts and provides an extra layer of security.
If you encounter any issues or find that MFA isn’t enabled, please contact IT Support.

The new password will be immediately valid for accessing all linked services.

Faculty and research associates

Faculty members who wish to set up an email account at Luiss can do so using the form below.

Activation will be completed within 48 hours, and a written notification will be sent to the provided email address with the credentials needed to manage your email inbox (user ID, password, and email address).

Administrative staff

All administrative staff are assigned an official work email address.
