Internal transfer between degree programs

Internal transfer between degree programs

Changing degree programs within Luiss Guido Carli for the a.y. 2026/2027 is possible, starting from the second yearfrom June 8 to July 20, 2026, by submitting the relevant form to segreteria@luiss.it with a copy of your ID.

It will be possible to be admitted to the second year or the second repeating year (“secondo ripetente”) of the new degree program if the following requirements will be met:

  • having obtained at least 24 credits in common area and recognizable in the new degree program.
  • for students enrolled in courses taught in a language different from English, it is possible to change to a Bachelor’s Degree Program taught in English as long as they fulfill the already mentioned requirements and are also proficient in English at least at the B2 level by presenting a currently valid English language certificate issued by a certifying body.
  • for non-Italian citizens it is possible to change to a Bachelor’s Degree Program taught in Italian as long as they fulfill the already mentioned requirements and are also proficient in Italian at least at the B2 level by presenting a currently valid Italian language certificate issued by a certifying body.

In the absence of the minimum requirements indicated above, in cases where only some exams may be recognized but the minimum number of credits has not been achieved, admission will be granted to the 1st year of the new degree program.

Please note that if the student has not taken any exams during the first year and/or no credits can be recognized, the change cannot be completed. In such cases, it will be necessary to repeat the admission procedure for the 1st year, according to the regulations applicable to the relevant academic year.

It is also specified that, in the case of dual enrollment in the same year of study or enrollment as a repeating student, no bonus will be awarded at the time of graduation.

It should also be noted that, in the event of double enrollment in the same year of the course or enrollment as a repeating student, no bonus points will be awarded upon graduation.

To facilitate the change of degree program, upon student request, it is possible to include, in each semester, up to two additional courses (“corsi liberi”) belonging to the degree program to which the student intends to change. If the change of degree program does not take place, any grades obtained for such courses will not be included in the calculation of the weighted average. The request to include such extra-curricular courses must, in all cases, be submitted before the start of classes for the relevant semester.

The Board Council assesses admission and the year of enrollment on a case-by-case basis, based on the coherence criteria established by the Didactic regulations.

When the exams are recognized, the number of credits assigned by the new degree program is attributed, regardless of those attributed by the original one. In case of the Board Council validates an exam with the request of an integration, the remaining part of the exam must be taken.
