The Observatory serves as a platform for discussion among stakeholders in Italian manufacturing supply chains, with the aim of analyzing opportunities and barriers to internationalization in a volatile and constantly evolving global context. The Observatory will focus on Italy's top manufacturing sectors, including agri-food, apparel and accessories, furniture, industrial automation and mechanics, and chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The analysis will cover each sector's potential, prevailing business models, and opportunities and challenges in international markets, with a focus on key issues such as geography, technological development, regulation, and ESG sustainability.

The methodology employed combines secondary sources with both quantitative and qualitative field surveys. In addition to producing annual reports, the Observatory will promote annual workshops with industry experts, public events to share research findings, and promotional activities such as infographics and newsletters.
