The “Franco Fontana” Research Center for Strategic Change aims to monitor digital transformation and provide cutting-edge tools to drive innovation and value creation. The Center aims to serve as a bridge between institutions and organizations. It provides institutions with updates on the current state of digital transformation and its impact on businesses and the entire national economy. It also provides organizations with cutting-edge tools to foster innovation and value creation, including metrics, business case studies, and best practices. To this end, the Center aims to: analyze the transformation that companies are undergoing in light of evolving scenarios; define the development paths and opportunities for organizations presented by megatrends; and analyze the challenges facing institutions, seeking effective solutions to provide a solid foundation and incentives for R&D, the labor market, growth, and organizations.

The Center's main research areas are: investments, industrial dynamics, productivity, and growth (Digital services and Infrastructures: development policies and their impact on the GDP; Investments on digitalization and performance); innovation in business models (Digital economy and new business models; Big data: capturing value from data); management of the “new” enterprise (Digital supply chain and Industry 4.0; Cyber security and organization, Management of IPR); and the labor market (Digital revolution and new jobs; Digital Factories and the workforce: from the market to the job cloud; Digital reskilling).

The “Franco Fontana” Strategic Change Research Center maintains established lines of research while also serving as an observatory to identify additional research needs.

To this end, the research team is multidisciplinary and collaborates with renowned national and international scholars.
