Ai.Bi. Associazione Amici dei Bambini is a volunteer association, a non-governmental organization, and an authorized body for international adoptions that has been advocating for every child's right to a family for over 30 years.

The volunteers' activities will be divided into:

  • a two-hour training session: the first lesson, on the ethics of volunteering, will be led by Monsignor Samuele Sangalli, and the second, on what it means to be a volunteer and the charter of values for volunteering, will be presented by Ermes Carretta
  • The “World Citizen” Project.

The project includes the following:

Objectives

General objective: to promote the rights of children and adolescents by empowering adolescents and young people to become agents of change.

Specific objective: To create an international community of adolescents and young people (ages 11–18) who are separated from their families and/or come from vulnerable backgrounds. These individuals will be trained and connected to  promote initiatives and projects aimed at protecting children, particularly those who have been abandoned.

Outcome

·       Adolescents and young people in Italy, Morocco, Kenya, the DRC, and Bolivia become community ambassadors: they have the knowledge and skills needed to define and implement local and international cooperation and advocacy projects focused on protecting children, especially those who have been abandoned.

·       The local and international community is made aware of the issue of abandoned children and the rights of the child (CRC)

Volunteers will need to collaborate to:

  • the design and development of the online platform
  • create and initially manage the project's website and social media channels
  • the creation of all project communication materials
  • developing project content
  • in the fundraising project
