Equoevento

The project will not be reactivated for the 2020-21 academic year.

Equoevento Onlus is a non-profit organization founded in Rome in December 2013 by five young professionals. Recognizing the vast amount of food wasted at events, they decided to take action by collecting and donating surplus food to charitable organizations, foster homes, and those in need.

Turning to Equoevento is an act of generosity and solidarity. The excellent food produced in excess at events that goes uneaten is collected and donated to those less fortunate, who, just a few hours after the event, enjoy it with great joy.

By diverting food from the waste stream, we’re taking a sustainable step forward, as surplus food transforms from potential waste into a valuable resource. By not wasting that food, you also optimize all the resources and raw materials used to prepare it.

Donating surplus food from an event is an act of humility and fairness. By sharing your meals with those less fortunate, you avoid judging people in need and place yourself on an equal footing with them as fellow human beings.

Activities

The activities will take place in the afternoon/evening, on days to be agreed upon with the partner.

Volunteers will then be tasked with collecting leftover food from the FAO restaurant and a pastry shop. All services last for a maximum of 4 hours.

The type of activities and how they are carried out will be agreed upon with the partner, taking into account the needs and availability of the Association and the volunteers. To earn the credits, you must participate in the activities every week during both the first semester (starting in early October) and the second semester, with a maximum of four missed sessions allowed.

There is a maximum of 3 students.
