Curricular Internships

An internship is a practical learning experience, undertaken either in Italy or abroad, with public or private organisations or employers (companies, professional practices, institutions, organisations, other universities, associations, research centres). Its aim is to complete the training process by applying the theoretical skills acquired during the course of study and to guide students towards their future career choices.

The internship can be:

  • a “compulsory” curricular internship / with CFU, meaning it is undertaken as a student, is part of the study programme, and is linked to the acquisition of university credits (CFU). It must be completed before the degree is awarded;
  • “optional” curricular / without credits, meaning it is undertaken as a student but without earning credits, and must be completed before the degree is awarded;
  • extracurricular, meaning undertaken as a graduate who is not enrolled in another university course. The maximum duration is regulated according to the region where the internship takes place.
