Welcome Desk

The Luiss Welcome Desk aims to provide support to all international students at Luiss who are preparing to live in Italy to study at our University.

Specifically, the Welcome Desk will support international students in the following areas:

• preparing the invitation letter required to apply for a visa
• applying for an entry visa to study at Luiss
• applying for or renewing an Italian residence permit for study purposes
• health insurance and registration with the Italian National Health Service
• applying for a tax code

In addition, the Welcome Desk can direct students to their University Tutor, the Luiss Buddies,  the SeiTu! Tutors, and the Tutors for international students, who will provide information on the Italian university system.

Please note that pre-registration with the university does not in any way guarantee an appointment at the diplomatic or consular missions to submit visa applications.

Please also note that, as previously stated on page 7 of the ministerial circular titled “Procedures for entry, residence, enrolment of international students, and the related recognition of qualifications for higher education courses in Italy, valid for the 2025–2026 academic year”, prior acceptance of a candidate by the university does not confer any right to obtain a visa, given that issuing study visas is the sole responsibility of individual diplomatic and consular missions.
