Highlights
The program provides a solid, international foundation in several areas of law, offering the following specializations (LLM):

Studying for an LLM at Glasgow equips students with the knowledge and skills needed in an increasingly competitive legal market.
It provides a solid foundation for working in settings such as international courts, the European Commission, international law firms, governments, the banking and finance sector, and academic institutions worldwide.
The program requires tuition fees in addition to those at Luiss University.
In addition to Luiss tuition fees, students participating in this program also pay tuition fees to the University of Glasgow with a 40% discount, hence the tuition payable for the 2026–2027 academic year is £17,000.
Please note that tuition does not cover living expenses.

Applican Process
The Call for Applications will be published in early December 2025, and students will be able to apply starting January 8, 2026. Further information on the deadlines is provided in the table below. Details regarding the application process not available on this webpage will be provided in the 2026/27 Call for Applications, which will be uploaded to the “Useful documents” section at the bottom of this page.
Who can apply
Students enrolled in the fourth year of the single-cycle Master’s degree in Law can apply to this program. Depending on their majors, students can apply for:
- LL.M. in International Commercial Law, open to students majoring in International Law, European Law, Corporate and Tax Law, or Business Law and Economics
- LL.M. in International Competition Law & Policy, open to students majoring in International Law, European Law, Administrative Law, or Business Law and Economics
- LL.M. in International Law, open to students majoring in International Law
- LL.M. in Intellectual Property and the Digital Economy, open to students majoring in Law and Innovation or Business Law and Economics
- LL.M. in Corporate & Financial Law, open to students majoring in Corporate and Tax Law, Civil Law, or Business Law and Economics
- LL.M. in Human Rights open to students majoring in International Law, European Law, and Administrative Law
- LL.M. in International Economic Law, open to students majoring in International Law, European Law, Corporate and Tax Law, or Business Law and Economics.
- LL.M. in Technology Law and Regulation, open to students majoring in Law and Innovation, European Law, or Business Law and Economics
- LL.M. in Climate Law and Justice, open to students majoring in International Law, European Law, or Law and Innovation
- LL.M. in Human Rights, open to students majoring in European Law or International Law

Available spots
Each year, a total of 5 students can participate in the program annually.
Requirements
Candidates for this program should meet the following requirements:
- Weighted average grade of 27/30 or higher
- Credits: at least 180 ECTS by the application deadline and 218 ECTS before departure to Glasgow
Regarding English proficiency, candidates should hold one of the following certificates:
- IELTS Academic Module (not General Training): minimum score of 7.0, with no subtest score below 6.5
- TOEFL (iBT, MyBest, or atHome): minimum score of 95, with minimum scores of 23 in Reading, 23 in Listening, 22 in Speaking, and 24 in Writing.
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): minimum overall score of 185, with no subtest score below 176
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE): minimum overall score of 185, with no subtest score below 176
- Pearson Academic (PTE): minimum score of 68, with a minimum of 62 in all subtests.
Language certificates must not be older than two years from the start of the mobility program (August/September 2026). Applicants must meet the requirements with a single test.
Selection Process
Luiss University will select a shortlist of candidates based on a non-disputable evaluation of the student's academic profile and motivation.
The results will be shared with the University of Glasgow, which reserves the right to make the final selection.
Selection Criteria
The selection process involves three steps:
| Step 1 | Eligible candidates will be ranked based on an analysis of their academic performance (credits 53%, internship credits 2%, weighted average grade 45%). |
| Step 2 | An interview will focus on the candidate's motivation, academic background, and previous international or professional experiences. |
| Step 3 | The partner universities, after analyzing the Luiss Commission ranking and the candidates’ applications, have the right to confirm the final ranking. |
