Application Procedures and Deadlines for Exchange Students

First Step for Partner University Coordinators – NOMINATION

  • Nomination Period: From April 1 to May 8 for both the First (Fall) and/or Second (Spring) semester

All exchange students must be nominated by their home university. The home coordinator must fill out our nomination form and email it to in_erasmusexchange@luiss.it.

[Click here to see if Luiss has an exchange partnership with your home university.]

Second Step for Nominated Students – REGISTRATION

  • Application Period: From April 1 to May 15 for both the First (Fall) and/or Second (Spring) semester

After being nominated by their home university, exchange students will receive an email with an access code (token) and instructions for registering on our online Web Self Service platform.

Enter your access code, first name, last name, and date of birth. The information you enter must match the data we received from your home university.

If registration is successful, you will be able to log in to the system using your newly assigned username and password. We recommend saving this page, which lists your credentials, or writing them down for future use. You will need these credentials before and during the exchange period to access your personal Luiss Web Self-Service page.

By logging into the system, students can proceed to the next step.

Third Step for Registered Students – APPLICATION

From the Web Self-Service user page, on the right-hand side, students should click on Study abroad > Application Form for Incoming students (Erasmus/Exchange).

Students will need to upload the following scanned documents:

  • A recent ID-format photograph (35 x 40 mm, max 5 MB, in JPEG, JPG, BMP, or PJPEG) *
  • ID card (for Schengen countries) or passport for non-EU students*
  • Updated transcript of records in English*
  • Language certificates (if required, check with your home university)

    * Required attachments

Luiss does not require paper copies of the application documents.

Fourth Step for Registered Students – LUISS EMAIL ACCOUNT CREATION

All applicants must complete this final step to finalize their registration. Students must create an official Luiss email account, which provides access to their institutional inbox and most of Luiss's digital services.

To begin the process, students must visit the Luiss IT Services website and select the option “Create your account.” For those who need the interface in English, a language toggle labeled "EN" is available in the top-right corner of the webpage.

To complete the registration, students must log in using their existing Web Self-Service credentials, which they obtained after completing the second step, and follow the instructions provided.

Please note: The email address will only become fully active once the student has received formal admission to the University. Once activation is complete, students will be able to access their institutional inbox through the Microsoft Outlook service.

Acceptance Letters

In late May, once applications have been processed, the International Student Mobility Office will email incoming students an acceptance letter along with practical information.
