Initiatives to reduce plastic consumption

Since 2019, Luiss has further strengthened its commitment to raising awareness among the entire university community about respecting the environment and reducing the use of plastic on campus through various initiatives. The university is committed to promoting a plastic-free culture on a daily basis and discouraging the purchase of plastic bottles. Hot beverage dispensers now only provide single-use paper cups, and cafeterias have also phased out single-use plastic items. Plastic water bottles in the vending machines have been replaced with bottles made from compostable materials. As part of efforts to reduce plastic use, the University has added water dispensers both indoors and outdoors across its campuses. Of particular note is the agreement with Acea Innovation, which has enabled the installation of three water kiosks at three different locations.
