Networks and Associations
Luiss actively participates in numerous networks and associations with the aim of increasing its research project capacity, enhancing teaching, and contributing to initiatives focused on social engagement in the field of sustainability. Through its extensive involvement with associations, Luiss enriches and leads the debate on these issues, gaining exposure to the best national and international practices.

Recognized in 2018, this non-profit association is an open platform for all national stakeholders interested in Blue Growth— the long-term strategy to support sustainable growth in the marine and maritime sectors. The Association aims to create a single, nationwide platform that brings together businesses, consortia, research organizations, and more. CTN BIG's scientific side is represented by a large group of universities and all the public research organizations that, in various capacities, focus on the sea. The industrial side features the direct involvement of many leading players, both national and international, along with a significant presence of SMEs and regional partnerships, which also play a crucial role in connecting with the regions. From a financial standpoint, CTN BIG was established with funding split 50/50 between self-financing and external capital (a contribution from the Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research). Similar to other existing clusters, it operates without specific public funding, relying instead on membership fees to cover both its structural and administrative costs as well as the costs of its activities. - UNAI – United Nations Academic Impact: |https://www.un.org/en/academicimpact|
An initiative that aligns higher education institutions with the United Nations to support and contribute to achieving the UN’s goals and mandates in promoting global priorities, including peace, human rights, and sustainable development. Since 2010, UNAI has built a vibrant and diverse network of students, academics, scientists, researchers, think tanks, higher education institutions, and educational associations. Promoted by CRUI, since July 2015, it has been the first initiative for coordination and knowledge sharing among all Italian universities committed to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. It aims to serve as a central hub for universities to share climate research and foster greater collaboration among leading research teams, thereby supporting global leaders, policymakers, and industry in planning for and responding to climate change. The national network for sustainable development of the UN SDSN, co-hosted by Luiss and the Eni Enrico Mattei Foundation, aims to increase knowledge and awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among various societal groups. This is achieved through activities focused on finding solutions and improving the quality of public and private decisions to achieve the Goals. A global organization that promotes the Sustainable Development Goals in business schools, and of which Luiss Business School has been a member for many years. It also ensures the preparation of planning instruments for mobility and the environment (General Urban Traffic Plan, Strategic Sustainable Mobility Plan). Roma Mobilità also carries out mobility planning activities, both for development scenarios and for updating the database with demographic and socio-economic data. The Council is an inclusive participatory forum where civil society, institutional entities, and industry associations come together to discuss and define a Food Plan. This plan will outline the city of Rome's agri-food policy for the coming years, guided by the principles of agro-ecological transition. This network brings together 15 of Italy's most important and long-standing non-governmental organizations. The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation began operations in January 2016 with the ambition of aligning Italy with its key European and international partners in the commitment to development.
