Certifications

In 2016, the Viale Romania office was awarded LEED Existing Building certification, a voluntary sustainability protocol that focuses on the performance and energy management of existing buildings, and one of the world's most prestigious certifications for environmental quality. Given the utmost focus on improving the energy efficiency of all our offices, alongside the adoption of best practices aimed at enhancing performance across the entire community, The Dome was awarded LEED Platinum certification in 2022 following the completion of construction work on the new building at our Viale Romania site.

In 2026, the University climbed to 14th place globally in the UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings of the most sustainable universities, up from 19th place in 2022, and it now holds 4th place among Italian universities. In the ranking’s “Energy and Climate Change” category, Luiss climbed another place to become number one worldwide.
