CodeForge: Accelerating Programming Excellence
The CodeForge: Accelerating Programming Excellence workshop, developed in collaboration with 42 Roma Luiss, aims to provide an intensive course in C using Python. The goal is to cultivate advanced skills in problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, and learnability.
Students will work on an excerpt from the C pool, collaborating in groups to implement a program that solves a skyscraper sudoku.
Specifically, they will use Python to implement a project focused on efficiently sorting data, using a limited set of instructions and the fewest possible steps. They will experiment with various sorting algorithms and select the most suitable solution to optimize data sorting.
General rules
- The course lasts a total of 30 hours, after which students will be required to work on assigned project work. To earn university credits, students must attend 80% of the total hours, which amounts to 24 hours (allowing for a maximum of 6 hours of absence), and the instructor must deem them eligible for the final assessment.
- A tutor will be responsible for recording attendance, which will be done by signing a register. Failure to sign in and/or out will be considered an absence. There will be no exceptions to the sole criterion for awarding university credits: attendance.
- Absence hours will be calculated based on the attendance records. Depending on the schedule or personal needs, students may take a full day off or miss individual hours across multiple sessions.
- Once a student has chosen their course, they will not be able to earn University Credits through any other means.
- Students who have already earned the required University Credits for Other Activities as part of their curriculum, or who have already started attending optional language courses or other activities that grant University Credits, are not eligible.
Additional information
- The course will take place in the second semester
- The course will be taught in Italian.
- All activities will take place on Fridays or Saturdays.
The activity calendar will be available in September
