Criminology Laboratory

Criminology Laboratory

The Criminology Workshop aims to provide a foundational overview of the subject, addressing deviant and criminal behavior and forms of social reaction from a theoretical and practical perspective. It introduces students to research and analysis methods used in the field of criminal law and criminology.

The Workshop will consist of two modules.

The first module will provide an institutional overview of the main theories, schools, and definitions of criminology, as well as address the interactions between criminology and criminal law. It will then dedicate a special section to analyzing certain criminological categories of crime (e.g., economic crime – white-collar crimes, organized crime of the mafia type, political-administrative crime, environmental crime, food crime, etc.).

The second module will focus on aspects related to legal psychology, considering the behavioral dynamics and psychological interrelationships of individuals involved in legal proceedings. Among other topics, the analysis will cover areas of intervention in legal psychology, the origins and dynamics of criminal trajectories, certain types of crimes (e.g., serial crimes and perpetrators of sexual offenses), as well as juvenile delinquency and crime.
