AI Business Cases

The seminar series aims to provide students with a practical understanding of the challenges businesses face when adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI), and how this technology can be applied to solve real business problems. Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to engage with local businesses, showcasing their analytical skills.

The first two sessions will provide an overview of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on businesses. During these lessons, students will explore how AI technologies are used across various sectors and how companies can benefit from them. Students will also gain a basic understanding of the key concepts and applications of AI in a business context.

This will be followed by interactive sessions where representatives from local businesses will share practical experiences of adopting AI within their organisations. Each testimonial will be followed by a group activity, where students will work together to analyse the case presented, identify the challenges faced by the company, and discuss possible technical and organisational solutions.

The aim of these activities is to foster critical and applied thinking by exposing students to the real challenges businesses face.

General Rules

• The course lasts a total of 30 hours, in addition to which the student will be required to work on the assigned project work. For the University Credits (CFU) to be recognised, students must have attended 80% of the total hours, which corresponds to 24 hours (therefore, a maximum of 6 hours of absence is allowed), and they must be deemed eligible for the final assessment by the lecturer.
• A tutor will be responsible for recording attendance, which will be done by signing a register. Failure to sign in and/or out will be considered an absence. There will be no exceptions to the sole criterion for awarding credits, which is attendance.
• Absence hours will be calculated based on the attendance records. Depending on the schedule or personal needs, students can either take a full day off or miss individual hours across multiple lessons.
• Once the course has been chosen, the student will not be able to earn the credits through any other means.
• Students who have already earned the credits required by their study plan for Other Activities, or who have already started attending optional language courses or other activities for which credits are recognised, are excluded.

• The course will take place during the first semester.
• The course will be delivered in Italian.
• All sessions will take place on either Friday or Saturday.

Registration

Students enrolled in the second year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Management for the 2026/2027 academic year will be able to select the Soft Skills AI Business Case course directly via Web Self Service while completing their Study Plan, in order to earn the relevant credits.
