Investing for Good Lab

The Investing for Good Lab, created by Italiacamp, gives students the chance to explore the latest paradigms in impact policy and investment. At the heart of the course is the concept of impact – understood as the positive change that an organisation consciously and strategically aims to bring about for stakeholders, regions, and communities over the medium to long term, in line with its development goals. The course also focuses on developing critical thinking and future thinking skills, which are increasingly relevant today for navigating contexts marked by complexity, uncertainty, and transformation.

There will be a particular focus on the dynamics of entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, with a teaching approach that combines theoretical knowledge, hands-on experience, and collaborative learning. The sessions will alternate between lectures and experiential workshops, where aptitude-based activities and methodological skills will be developed in a complementary manner. The course also includes gaming sessions dedicated to:

• Critical Thinking
• Utopia Workshop
• Systems Dynamics
• Future Thinking
• GenAI Bootcamp: Prompting Techniques

Each session will focus on the applied exploration of sustainability and value creation, by analysing alternative scenarios and using innovative tools to understand and interpret complexity. Students will therefore be required to develop critical skills, the ability to analyse contexts, and problem-solving approaches aimed at generating social, environmental, and economic impact.

The lectures will also be enhanced by executive lectures featuring representatives from the world of innovation, institutions, and high-impact organisations. This will provide students with opportunities for direct engagement with professionals and decision-makers, offering a practical perspective on the challenges and opportunities that characterise contemporary transformation processes.
Now in its 10th edition, the Investing for Good Lab is an elective course open to students on all Bachelor’s degree programmes, offering a unique opportunity to understand and experience the principles of impact management. The course also serves as a platform for collaboration between universities, businesses, investors, and organisations dedicated to developing innovative solutions.

General Rules

• The course has a total duration of 30 hours, in addition to which the student will be required to work on the assigned project work. For the University Credits (CFU) to be recognised, students must attend 80% of the total hours, which corresponds to 24 hours (therefore, a maximum of 6 hours of absence is allowed), and they must be deemed eligible for the final assessment by the lecturer.
• A tutor will be responsible for recording attendance, which will be done by signing a register. Failure to sign in and/or out will be considered an absence. There will be no exceptions to the sole criterion for awarding credits, which is attendance.
• Absence hours will be calculated based on the attendance records. Depending on the schedule or personal needs, students can take a full day off or miss individual hours across multiple lessons.
• Once the course has been chosen, the student will not be able to earn the credits through any other means.

Additional information

• The course will take place during the first semester.
• The course will be delivered in Italian, except when international guests are present.
• All sessions will take place on either a Friday or a Saturday.

Registration

Students enrolled in the second year of the Bachelor’s Degree programmes in Economics and Management and Political Science for the 2026/2027 academic year, as well as those in the third year of the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree programme in Law for the 2026/2027 academic year, can select the Soft Skills Investing for Good Lab course directly via Web Self Service while completing their Study Plan, thereby earning the relevant credits.
