UNICEF
The project will not be reactivated for the 2020-21 academic year.
The UNICEF Committee in Rome is an integral part of the global structure of UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund. UNICEF is a subsidiary body of the United Nations with a mandate to protect and promote the rights of children and adolescents (0–18 years) worldwide, and to contribute to improving their living conditions.
The organization’s unique feature is that it is both a non-governmental organization (NGO) within Italy’s Third Sector and a representative of an intergovernmental program of the United Nations.
Activities
Students who take on this opportunity will engage in highly practical activities, providing a means to explore the world of UNICEF and its main fundraising campaigns, with the well-established Pigotta Project serving as a prime example. By participating in the Pigotta creation workshop, students will learn about UNICEF's values and practices in support of children. This will enable them to contribute to the second objective of the volunteer project with Luiss, which is to ensure social media coverage for the various initiatives of the UNICEF Committee in Rome. To support this second activity, students will be guided by a team of Luiss faculty members who are experts in social media communication and brand identity. Specifically, the project includes:
- Training for volunteers on the world of UNICEF, a subsidiary body of the United Nations dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights of children worldwide and improving their living conditions
- Hands-on activities required to create the Pigotte (a Luiss/University series), the dolls that symbolize UNICEF’s work around the world
- Training volunteers on the tools and guidelines needed to manage social networks
- Supporting the social media team in managing editorial plans for various channels and creating editorial content;
- Supporting the editorial team in managing any social media campaigns and in community management
Activities will take place in shifts to be arranged directly with the partner, ensuring a presence of 4 hours per week during office hours (Monday to Friday).
Maximum number of participants: 10.
