Instructions for installing the Safe Exam Browser
To take certain exams on the Luiss Learn platform, you must use your own computer (Windows or Mac) and the SAFE EXAM BROWSER.
On the day of the exam, you’ll need to bring your computer to access the Luiss Learn platform, where the exam will be available (don’t forget your computer’s power adapter). Please note that the use of iPads, smartphones, or Android tablets is not permitted.
To access the exam, you must have the Safe Exam Browser installed on your computer (Windows or Mac).
- Go to the Luiss Learn page at https://learn.luiss.it/course/view.php?id=24345 and follow the instructions for your system.
- For Mac users: As indicated on the page, remember that after installing the Safe Exam Browser, you need to download the configuration file and save it on your computer (on the desktop, in Documents, or wherever you prefer). On a Mac, you must launch the browser by clicking on the configuration file (NOT by opening the Safe Exam Browser icon). So, it's crucial to download the configuration file and keep it handy!
Minimum requirements for installing Safe Exam Browser
- Windows 10 or 11 with an account that has Administrator privileges
- macOS version 10.13 or later
Verify that Safe Exam Browser is installed correctly
- After installing the Safe Exam Browser, please open it by clicking on the configuration file and then go to the “Safe Exam Browser” page on Luiss Learn (if you’ve already opened it to download the browser, you’ll find it in your “My Home”).
- Click on the practice quiz (“Quiz: le capitali d'America / U.S. State Capitals quiz”) to start the quiz.
You can only take the exam if you successfully launch the practice quiz.
On the day of the exam, we ask students to use only the LuissWPA network connection in the classroom at all times. Using LuissGuest or personal hotspots could prevent you from continuing the exam if the connection drops.
Please also disable any VPN connections. In particular, Mac users who have enabled the “iCloud Private Relay” feature (which uses a VPN to protect user privacy) are also asked to disable it during the exam to prevent technical issues.
