English/Academic English I semester 2026/2027

Starting on Friday, September 4th, and in any case in time for the first language lesson, a meeting invitation email will be sent to your Luiss email account (@studenti.luiss.it), specifying your group, the time, the course format, and the classroom where the course will take place.

Upon receiving the email, you will also be able to view your assigned language group in the Luiss app and in the class schedule

 

Bachelor's Degree Program in Economics and Management

First year – English eco1

Language groups will be formed after a language assessment test. The test, which is written only, will take place online on Tuesday, September 8. The University Language Center will provide more details closer to that date. 

Classes (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Tuesdays from 8:30 to 9:45 AM and Fridays from 9:45 to 11:00 AM, or on Tuesdays from 9:45 to 11:00 AM and Fridays from 8:30 to 9:45 AM (preferences cannot be expressed). The first lesson will be held on Tuesday, September 15.

Those who demonstrate a level equal to or higher than B1.3 in the test will begin the English language course in the second semester (February 2027).

Second year – English eco2

Classes (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Mondays from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM and on Wednesdays from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM, or on Mondays from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM and on Wednesdays from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM (preferences cannot be expressed). The first lesson will be held on Monday, September 7.

Third year – English eco3

Classes (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Mondays from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM and on Wednesdays from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM, or on Mondays from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM and on Wednesdays from 2:00 PM to 3:15 PM (preferences cannot be expressed). The first class will be held on Monday, September 7.

 

Single-Cycle Master's Degree Program in Law

First year – English gp1

Classes (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Wednesdays from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and Fridays from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m., or on Wednesdays from 9:45 to 11:00 a.m. and Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (preferences cannot be expressed). The first lesson will be held on Wednesday, September 16.

Classes (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Tuesdays from 11:00 AM to 12:15 PM and Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM, or on Tuesdays from 12:15 PM to 1:30 PM and Thursdays from 5:45 PM to 7:00 PM (preferences cannot be expressed). The first class will be held on Tuesday, September 8.

 

Bachelor's Degree Program in Political Science

First year – English sp1/ppe1

Language groups will be formed after a language assessment test. The written and oral test will take place in person on Monday, September 14. The University Language Center will provide more details closer to that date. 

Classes (2 hours and 30 minutes, once a week) are held exclusively online on Mondays from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The first lesson will be held on Monday, September 21.

Those who demonstrate a level equal to or higher than C1.1 in the test will begin the English language course in the second semester (February 2027).

Second year – English sp2

Classes (2 hours and 30 minutes, once a week) are held exclusively online on Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The first lesson will be held on Thursday, September 10.

Those who have reached a level of C1.3 or higher by May 2026 will attend the final semester of the course – in preparation for the 30-point exam – in person on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM or from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM (preferences cannot be expressed). The first lesson will be held on Wednesday, September 9.

Third year – English sp3

Classes (2 hours and 30 minutes, once a week) are held exclusively online on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The first class will be held on Wednesday, September 9.

Those who have reached a level of C1.3 or higher by May 2026 will attend the final semester of the course – in preparation for the exam graded out of 30 – in person on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM or from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM (no preferences can be expressed). The first class will be held on Wednesday, September 9.

 

Bachelor's Degree Program in Politics: Philosophy and Economics

First year – English sp1/ppe1

Language groups will be formed after a language assessment test. The written and oral test will take place in person on Monday, September 14. The University Language Center will provide more details closer to that date. 

Classes (2 hours and 30 minutes, once a week) are held exclusively online on Mondays from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. The first lesson will be held on Monday, September 21.

English/Academic English II, Semester 2, 2022/2023

Starting on Friday, February 3, in time for the first lecture, students will receive a convocation email to their Luiss name.surname@studenti.luiss.it —indicating their group, the schedule, the delivery method, and the classroom where the course will be held.

Based on their assigned group, each student can find their instructor by checking the relevant lesson schedule.

Bachelor’s degree program in Economics and Management

First year:

Lessons (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Monday from 8:30 am to 9:45 am and Friday from 9:45 am to 11:00 am. Otherwise, they are held on Monday from 9:45 am to 11:00 am and Friday from 8:30 am to 9:45 am (it is not possible to express any preference regarding the time slot). The first lesson will be held on Monday, February 6th.

Second year:

Lessons (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Wednesday from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm and Friday from 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm (it is not possible to express any preference regarding time slots). The first lesson will be held on Wednesday, February 8th.

Third year:

Lessons (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Monday from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm and Thursday from 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm, or alternatively on Monday from 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm and Thursday from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm (it is not possible to express any preference regarding time slots).

The first lesson will be held on Monday, February 13, taking into account the language assessment test taken by students who have completed a semester abroad.

Lessons (1 hour and 15 minutes, twice a week) are held exclusively online on Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm and Thursday from 3:45 pm to 5:00 pm, or alternatively on Tuesday from 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm and Thursday from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm. The first lesson will be held on Tuesday, February 7th.

Third year:

Bachelor’s degree program in Political Science

Students who, in December 2022, achieved a C1.3 level (or higher) will have to attend the last semester of the course – which is preparatory to the thirtieth exam – in person at the Viale Romania Campus during the same time slot provided above (Monday 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm). The first lesson will be held on Monday, February 6th.

Second year:

Lessons (2 hours and 30 minutes, once a week) are held exclusively online on Thursday from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. The first lesson will be held on Thursday, February 9th.

Bachelor’s degree program in Politics: Philosophy and Economics

Bachelor’s degree programs in Business Administration, Economics and Business, and Management and Computer Science

Students must take an English assessment test—if they haven't already done so in September 2022 or during the Admission test (Summer School 2021 and Admission test February/May 2022)—to assess their English level (minimum threshold B2.1).

Students who demonstrate a level below B2.1 are required to attend a language course with a pass-or-fail exam to reach the required threshold by the end of the first academic year. The result and level will not be recorded in the student’s academic record.

Lessons are held exclusively online on Mondays from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm, with the first lesson scheduled for Monday, February 6.
