Anti-Phishing
Online phishing is a method used to deceive users into revealing personal or financial information through an email message or a website. A common online phishing scam involves an email that looks like an official notice from a trusted source, such as a bank, a credit card company, or a reputable online retailer. Recipients of the email are directed to a fraudulent website, where they are asked to provide personal information, such as an account number or a password. This information is then used to steal someone else's identity.
If you receive a suspicious message, remember that:
- The Luiss Guido Carli University never requests personal information via email.
- Exercise the utmost care when managing your email and the credentials assigned to you for any university service.
- Do not click on links in emails with a subject or content similar to those shown.
- Do not fill out web forms that request credentials (username and password) accessed via links in these emails.
- Never respond to these emails.
How to protect yourself
Over the years, as phishing attempts have increased, email providers and software houses that develop email clients have equipped their products with anti-spam and anti-phishing filters to protect user security. However, security systems don't always catch fraudulent emails. That's why you still need to be very careful and, if necessary, report a copy of the message through the ticket system (https://support.luiss.it/).
