Election to renew faculty and student representation on Luiss governing bodies
Where, when, and how to vote
The elections will take place from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025. According to the procedure outlined in the unified Electoral Regulations for electing representatives to the governing bodies of Luiss Free International University of Social Studies Guido Carli (attached).
For those who vote
The representatives to be elected are as follows:
a) to the University's Board of Directors:

b) on the Program Councils (with an advisory vote):

Who votes and who can be voted for (active and passive electorate)
Active electorate
The following individuals are entitled to vote for their respective categories and for the respective body of the University:
a) tenured and non-tenured professors, by age;
b) students who are enrolled in a program or have been out of program for no more than two years, in a three-year, master's, or single-cycle program, on the date of the elections.
Eligibility to stand for election
The following are eligible for the respective category and the respective body of the University:
a) tenured professors;
b) students who are enrolled in a program on the date of the elections, whether it be a three-year program, a master's program,
or single-cycle programs.
The lists of eligible voters and candidates are available for review daily (starting November 11, 2025), Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at:

How to submit lists and candidacies
The deadline for uploading electoral lists and candidacies online (to the designated platform) is 11:59 PM on Monday, October 27, 2025 (30 days before the election date).
The deadline for submitting electoral lists online (via the designated platform) is Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11:59 PM (15 days before the election date).
a) for representation on the board of directors
1) of tenured professors:
For the collection of faculty candidacies, the paper-based procedure will continue to be the sole method used. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 p.m. on November 12, 2025, to the office of Dr. Alessandro Lubicz, who is in charge of the process, located at Viale Pola 12, 2nd floor, central building
2) for students:
Each candidate list must have a name or acronym, include no more than three times the number of eligible voters, and be signed by at least 50 voters enrolled in Bachelor's, Master's, or single-cycle degree programs.
b) for student representation on course councils:
- For each bachelor's, master's, and single-cycle master's degree program, students elect two representatives separately. Each candidate list must include no more than three times the number of eligible candidates and must be signed by at least 10% of the students currently enrolled in each program, up to a maximum of 50 voters.
Students may only run for the body associated with the program they are enrolled in.
All signatories must be eligible to vote in the election for which the supported list is running.
c) for student representation on the university sports committee, the quality assurance committee, and the evaluation committee:
All regulatory provisions concerning the submission of candidacies to the board of directors apply.
In any case, to ensure the principle of gender equality, candidates of the same sex must not exceed two-thirds of the total on each list for the election of student representatives to the bodies.
Furthermore, to ensure the continuity of student representation on the bodies, candidates enrolled in their final year must not exceed two-thirds of the total.
In other words, at least one-third of the candidates must be enrolled:
- in their penultimate year (or earlier) for elections to the Board of Directors, the University Sports Committee, and single-cycle master's degree programs
- in the first or second year for representation in three-year degree programs
- in the first year for representation in master's degree programs
For the election of student representatives to the bodies mentioned in points a), b), and c) above, the following rules apply: - no candidate may appear on more than one list for the election of representatives to the same body;
- no student may endorse more than one list for the election of the same body by signing;
The electoral commission verifies the validity of candidacies and lists, the number of signatures, and their compliance with these regulations. It also makes the candidacies and lists public by posting them on the University bulletin board and publishing them on the University’s website.
If, after the aforementioned verification, the number of signatories on the list is found to be below the required threshold, or if any other irregularities are identified in the lists, the electoral commission will promptly notify this by posting a notice on the University bulletin board. The list must then be rectified within 2 days of the notice being posted, with the order in which the lists were submitted remaining unchanged.
Candidacies and lists may be contested within two days of their posting on the bulletin board.
The electoral commission will decide on appeals within the following 48 hours.
The administrative offices are responsible for verifying that the requirements related to the provisions of this article are met.
The Electoral Commission
To organize the electoral process, an electoral commission is established in accordance with Article 3 of the Electoral Regulations, composed as follows:
- Paolo De Nardo, Attorney (Chairman), delegated by the Director General
- Prof. Antonio Punzi, Rector's Delegate
- Francesco Maria Spanò, Head of University Administration
- Ms. Elena Furfaro, representing the students
