Master's in Tourism and the Local Area: Economics, Marketing, and Eco-Sustainability

First-Level Master's Degree

The Master’s program, developed in collaboration with Federturismo Confindustria and with the support of Roma Capitale, was created in response to requests for high-quality, specialized training from the network of tourism businesses affiliated with Confindustria. It was the first master's degree program offered by Luiss Guido Carli, and its interdisciplinary nature, along with its strong integration of academia and the business world, has been and continues to be a successful model.

The curriculum includes courses across six subject areas (Economics and Management; Law and Administration; Marketing; Economics and Regional Development; Linguistics; Computer Science and ICT), totaling approximately 500 hours of classroom lectures, workshops, and exercises. Additionally, there are 120 hours dedicated to testimonials, meetings, and technical seminars.

During the months of in-class instruction, students engage in numerous group projects, research, and written assignments. They participate in a business game as part of teams, create a business plan for a new venture, build a company website with social media integration, and contribute to events such as conferences, workshops, and career days, which are organized annually by the Master’s program in collaboration with partners.

Director: Prof. Melina Decaro, Full Professor of Comparative Public Law, Luiss Guido Carli.
